Arm Holes

  • Round 22: 18 sc, ch 5, skip 5 sc, 19 sc, ch 5, skip 5 sc, sc to end (48)
  • Round 23: 48 sc (48) – work sc into each chain

Hip Shaping

  • Round 24: 3 sc, inc, 4 sc, inc, (inc, 4 sc) × 3, 18 sc, 4 sc, inc, sc (54)
  • Round 25: 4 sc, inc, 5 sc, inc, (inc, 5 sc) × 3, 18 sc, 5 sc, inc, sc (60)

Main Body

  • Rounds 26-46 (21 rounds): 60 sc (60) – plus an extra 2 sc for stitch alignment

Insert wire: Cut two pieces of wire (about 25 cm each). Insert them into the arm holes, pushing them through the body to the other side. Stuff the body firmly.

Leg Holes

  • Round 47: 27 sc, ch 8, skip 8 sc, 16 sc, ch 8, skip 8 sc, sc to end (60)
  • Round 48: 60 sc (60) – work sc into each chain

Insert wire for legs: Insert wire pieces into the leg holes. Continue stuffing.

Close the Body

  • Round 49: (dec, 8 sc) × 6 (54)
  • Round 50: (dec, 7 sc) × 6 (48)

Fasten off, leaving a tail for attaching to arms and legs later.


Part 5: Arms (Make 2)

Work with main color (green #29). Start at the marked arm hole.

  • Round 1: ch 2, sc in the same stitch, 11 sc – working in the round (12)
  • Rounds 2-22 (21 rounds): 12 sc (12) – add 3 extra sc in the last round for alignment
  • Change to Color #2 (green #63)
  • Rounds 23-24: 12 sc (12) – stuff the arm
  • Round 25: (inc, sc) × 6 (18)
  • Round 26: 18 sc (18)
  • Round 27: Work together with the hoof – 18 sc through both layers (hoof and arm) – stuff firmly
  • Fasten off.

Part 6: Legs (Make 2 – work symmetrically)

Work with main color (green #29). Start at the marked leg hole. Left and right legs differ slightly – follow the diagram for placement!

  • Round 1: ch 2, sc in the same stitch, 17 sc – working in the round (18)
  • Rounds 2-10 (9 rounds): 18 sc (18) – stuff
  • Round 11: (4 sc, dec) × 3 (15)
  • Rounds 12-20 (9 rounds): 15 sc (15)
  • Round 21: (3 sc, dec) × 3 (12)
  • Rounds 22-30 (9 rounds): 12 sc (12) – add 3 extra sc in the last round
  • Change to Color #2 (green #63)

Part 7: Ears (Make 2)

Outer Ear (main color – green #29)

Worked in turning rows.

  • Row 1: ch 2, 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook, ch 1, turn (3)

  • Row 3: inc, 3 sc, inc, ch 1, turn (7)
  • Rows 4-7: 7 sc, ch 1, turn (7)

Now work in the round around the entire ear edge:

Fasten off.

Inner Ear (Color #1 – green #69)

  • Rows 1-11: Same as outer ear (rows 1-11)
  • Round 12: 10 sc, 3 sc in tip, 13 sc (26)
  • Round 13: Change to Color #2 (green #63) – BLO – 26 sl st (26)
  • Change back to main color (green #29)

Now join the inner and outer ears by working through both layers:

  • BLO: inc, 9 sc, inc, hdc, ch, hdc in same stitch, inc, 9 sc, inc, 3 sc

Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
