Part 3: Body

Start with white yarn for the pantaloons section.

Main Body Shaping

  • Round 1: Chain 20 + 1 turning chain. Starting from the 2nd chain from hook:
    • 1 sc inc, 18 sc, 4 sc in the last chain, then continue on the opposite side of the chain: 18 sc, inc (44)
  • Round 2: Work in a spiral: inc, 20 sc, 2 inc, 20 sc, inc (48)
  • Rounds 3-17 (15 rounds): 48 sc (48)

Switch to Gray Yarn (Dress)

  • Round 18: 48 sc (48)
  • Round 19: Work in back loop only – 48 sc (48) – This creates the fold line for the dress
  • Rounds 20-24 (5 rounds): 48 sc (48)
  • Round 25: (4 sc, dec) × 8 times (40)
  • Rounds 26-27: 40 sc (40)

Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing. Stuff the body firmly.

Part 4: Dress Skirt (Attached to the Body)

Remember those front loops we left on Round 19? Now we’ll attach the skirt to them! Use gray yarn.
