Sphynx Cat Crochet Pattern: A Wrinkly Hairless Amigurumi

The Most Unique Cat You’ll Ever Crochet

Hello, my wonderful crochet friend! Have you ever looked at a Sphynx cat – those elegant, wrinkled, big-eared, completely hairless creatures – and thought, “I need to crochet one immediately”? Because same. And today is your lucky day.

Meet the Sphynx Cat – a beautifully detailed amigurumi that captures everything we love about this unique breed: the expressive eyes, the oversized bat-like ears, the charming wrinkles (yes, we are crocheting wrinkles!), and that elegant, poseable body. She is bald, she is beautiful, and she is ready to steal your heart.

So grab your hook, your plush yarn, and your patience – we are about to make something truly special

Materials You’ll Need

Part 1: Back Legs (Make 2 Identical)

Work with main color plush yarn.

  • Foundation: Ch 4. From 2nd ch from hook: 2 inc, in the first ch of the chain work 4 sc, along the opposite side of the chain: 1 sc, inc (11)
  • Round 2: (1 sc, inc) × 3, 5 sc (14)
  • Round 3: 1 sc, dec from sl st, 3 sl st, dec from sl st, 6 sc (12)
  • Round 4: dec, 3 sc, dec, 5 sc (10)
  • Round 5: 10 sc (10)

Now work the heel using turning rows. Make a psm if needed so the round ends neatly at the side of the leg.

  • Ch 1, turn, 4 sc, ch 1, turn, 4 sc, ch 1, turn, 2 dec, ch 1, turn
  • Transition back to working in the round:
    • 5 sc, decrease at the seam/top of the leg
    • Along the top of the leg: 1 sl st, dec from sl st, 1 sl st, decrease at the seam/top
    • Along the side: 3 sc, dec

Place your marker – watch the video tutorial to make sure the stitches align at the end of this round!

  • Round 6 (BO): 1 sc, 2 dec, FLO: (3-in-1) × 2, BO: 2 dec, 1 sc (12)

Fasten off and cut the yarn. Do not stuff the legs yet – they will be crocheted into the body
