Pattern Instructions

Part 1: Granny Squares (Make 80 Total)

Color Distribution:

  • 12 squares each in A, C, E
  • 11 squares each in B, D, F, G

Instructions (for 1 Square):

  1. Foundation Ring: Ch 4, join with sl st to form a ring.
  2. Round 1:
    • Ch 5 (counts as dc + ch 2), (3 dc, ch 2) in ring 3 times, 2 dc in ring.
    • Join with sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch-5. *(12 dc, 4 ch-2 spaces)*
  3. Round 2:
    • Sl st to next ch-2 sp, ch 3 (counts as dc), (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same sp, dc in next 3 sts.
    • Repeat * around, join with sl st to beg ch-3. *(28 dc, 4 ch-2 spaces)*
  4. Round 3:
    • Sl st to next ch-2 sp, ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same sp, dc in next 7 sts.
    • Repeat * around, join with sl st to beg ch-3. *(44 dc, 4 ch-2 spaces)*
  5. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Part 2: Joining the Squares

  • Arrange squares in an 8×10 grid (refer to the diagram in the PDF for color placement).
  • Use the invisible seaming stitch to join squares neatly with right sides facing.

Part 3: Adding the Border

  1. Round 1:
    • Join yarn F (Lilac) in any corner ch-2 sp.
    • Ch 1, sc in each st and ch-2 sp around, working 3 sc in each corner. Join with sl st.
  2. Round 2:
    • Ch 1, sc in each st around, again working 3 sc in each corner. Join with sl st.
  3. Fasten off and weave in all ends.
