Back Base (Make 1 in Green)

Work the same rounds as the sunflower center (R1–R7) using green yarn.

Assembling the Flower Base

  • Place the brown center and green back base with wrong sides together.
  • Attach yellow yarn through both layers to begin petals.

Petals (Work in Yellow)

Each petal is worked through both layers:

Petals Pattern:

  • Ch 2,
  • 1 dc in same stitch,
  • 1 tr in same stitch,
  • Ch 1,
  • 1 dtr in same stitch,
  • Ch 1,
  • 1 tr in same stitch,
  • 1 dc in same stitch,
  • Ch 2,
  • Sl st into next stitch on the base.

Repeat this pattern around the entire edge, creating 16 petals total.

🌼 Tip: Make 7–8 petals, then lightly stuff the center before continuing. This helps maintain a rounded shape.

After all petals are complete, FO and weave the yellow end inside the flower.

Stem (Make 1 in Green)

  1. R1: 7 sc in MR (7)
  2. R2–R41: 7 sc (40 rounds)
  3. R42: 7 sc, FO

🌿 Note: Adjust the number of rounds to your preferred stem length.

Assembly

Option 1: With Wire

  • Cut a piece of wire slightly shorter than the stem.
  • Curl one end into a small spiral.
  • Place the flower base onto the spiral.
  • Insert the wire into the stem, stuffing lightly around it.

Option 2: Without Wire

  • Stuff the stem firmly to help it hold its shape.
  • Attach the flower base securely.

Sewing Together

  • Using a separated strand of green yarn, sew the stem to the green back base.
  • Take small, neat stitches to keep the join invisible.

Bouquet Finishing

  • Make 3–5 sunflowers for a small bouquet.
  • Tie stems together with twine or ribbon.
  • Arrange petals naturally for a realistic look.

Tips for a Beautiful Bouquet

  • Use stiff wire for stems that hold their shape.
  • Stuff the flower center lightly—just enough to give it a gentle dome.
  • Weave ends in carefully to keep the wrong side neat.
  • Vary petal placement for a more natural, organic look.

Your Sunflower Bouquet is Complete!

Congratulations! You’ve just created a beautiful, everlasting piece of sunshine. 🌻✨
