Instructions for Your Crochet Octopus

Body and Head – Tummy Section

Start crocheting the tummy of your adorable octopus in blue yarn.

Round 1: 6 sc in a MR [6]
Round 2: inc in all 6 st [12]
Round 3: (sc, inc) x 6 [18]
Round 4: sc, (inc, 2 sc) x 5, inc, sc [24]

Crocheting the Tentacles

Now, it’s time to create those characteristic octopus tentacles directly from the tummy base. This step involves working in front loops only (FLO) and later transitioning to the other side of the chain.

Round 5: (ch 25, start in second ch from hook, (sc, dtr) x 12 FLO, slst in next 3 st on the octopus tummy) x 8 [8 tentacles].

Change to off-white yarn, then cut the blue yarn.
