Part 5: Accessories

Cup Handle

Use powder pink yarn. Chain 9 and join into a ring with a sl st.

  • Rounds 1-22: 9 sc per round. End with 2 sl st.

  • Second half: Ch 4, in the same loop: 5 dc, ch 4, 1 sl st, ch 1.

Fasten off. Wrap the yarn around the center 4-5 times to create the knot, tie securely, and sew to the animal’s head.

Part 6: Final Assembly and Details

1. Face Embroidery

  • Hearts: Use white thread to embroider small, random “V” shaped hearts on the powder pink cup.
  • Nose: Use black thread. Embroider a nose 8 sc high and 4 sc wide. The top should be at Round 17 (measured from the cup edge) and the bottom at Round 10.
  • Eyes: Use black thread. Eyes should be 1 sc high and 5 sc long, spaced 8 sc apart, located at Rounds 18-19 from the cup edge.
  • Cheeks: Use pink thread to add small blush marks under the eyes.

2. Finishing Touches

  • Paws: Sew the paws to the rim of the cup so they look like they are resting on the edge.
  • Closing the Head: Add the final bit of stuffing. Use a needle to cinch the top opening by catching the front loops of the 12 remaining stitches. Pull tight and sew shut.
  • Ears: Sew the ears to the head, approximately 3 rounds down from the closed top opening.
  • Heart: Sew the heart onto the paw of the cat
