How to Crochet a Bunny Coaster

Pattern Notes

  • The chain stitches at the beginning of each round do not count as a stitch.

Coaster Instructions (Grey Yarn)

Follow these steps to create the flat circular base of your bunny coaster.

Round 1: Create a magic circle, Ch 2, and work 10 DC into the circle. Join with a sl st to the first DC. (10 sts)

Round 2: Ch 2, work 2 DC in each st around. Join with a sl st. (20 sts)

Round 3: Ch 2, *make 2 DC in the first st, then 1 DC in the next st.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a sl st. (30 sts)

Round 4: Ch 2, *make 1 DC in the next 2 sts, then 2 DC in the next st.* Repeat from * to * around. Join with a sl st. (40 sts)

Create two identical ears using the same grey yarn.

Round 1:

  1. Chain 9.
  2. Starting in the second chain from the hook, work 1 HDC in each of the next 7 chains.
  3. In the very last chain, work 5 HDC. This will cause your work to naturally turn.
  4. Now, working along the opposite side of the starting chain, make 1 HDC in each of the remaining 7 stitches. (19 sts)

Tip: As you work the HDC stitches down the opposite side, lay your starting yarn tail along the edge and crochet over it to weave it in as you go.

Fasten off, leaving a long 10 cm yarn tail for sewing the ears to the coaster.
