We’ll begin with the head—worked in continuous rounds for that smooth amigurumi look

  1. Round 1: 6 SC in MR (6)
  2. Round 2: 6 Inc (12)
  3. Round 3: (1 SC, 1 Inc) x6 (18)
  4. Round 4: (1 SC, 1 Inc, 1 SC) x6 (24)
  5. Continue increasing until Round 8 (48 stitches).
  6. Rounds 9-17: SC evenly around (48 stitches per round).
  7. Rounds 18-24: Start decreasing to shape the top of the head.

Tip: Stuff firmly as you go to avoid lumps

Head (Purple/Red/Yellow/Green Yarn)

Same as above, but stop at Round 12 (36 stitches) for a flatter top

Legs (Make 2)

  2. Round 2: 6 Inc (12).
  3. Round 3: Switch to colored yarn, 5 SC, 1 Inc, 5 SC, 1 Inc (14).
  4. Rounds 4-9: SC around (14 stitches).
  5. For the right leg: Don’t fasten off—chain 3 and join to the left leg to start the body

Body

  1. Round 1: SC around both legs + chains (34 stitches).
  2. Rounds 2-7: Increase to 42 stitches, then work even.
  3. Rounds 8-18: Decrease down to 24 stitches for a tapered shape.

Tip: Stuff as you go and adjust shaping for a chubby or slim Teletubby

  1. Round 1: 5 SC in MR (5).
  2. Round 2: 5 Inc (10).
  3. Rounds 3-12: SC around (10 stitches).
  4. Finish: Stuff, then sew 5 stitches together to close

  2. Work in rows with increases for a curved shape.
  3. Switch to beige yarn for the inner ear.
  4. Decrease to close

Tummy Screen

  1. Chain 9, then work DC into the 3rd chain.
  2. SC in the next row for a smooth finish.
  3. Slip stitch around the edges for a neat look

Antenna (Custom for Each Teletubby)

  • Green (Po): Short and filled.
  • Yellow (Laa-Laa): Spiral-wrapped for a fun twist.
  • Red (Dipsy): Folded in half for a flat shape.
  • Purple (Tinky Winky): Triangle-shaped (sew corners)

Finishing Touches

  • Sew all parts together securely.
