Crochet Your Own George the Dragon

Materials You’ll Need
- Yarn:
- Main Color (MC): Worsted weight (4 ply) yarn in medium blue (or your chosen dragon color).
- Contrast Color (CC1): Worsted weight yarn in a dark blue for wings and details.
- Contrast Color (CC2): Worsted weight yarn in cream for the tummy.
- Horns: A small amount of sport weight (DK weight) yarn in cream. Note: You can use worsted weight here, but your horns will be larger. See the pattern tip later on!
- Crochet Hook: Size G (4.0 mm) hook for the main body. A 2.75 mm hook is recommended for the horns if using sport weight yarn.
- Safety Eyes: One pair of 12mm black safety eyes.
- Fiberfill: Polyester stuffing to bring your dragon to life!

The Head (Using MC – Medium Blue)
We’ll start by creating George’s sweet head. Use your stitch marker to keep track of your rounds!
R1: Make a magic ring, sc 6 into the ring. (6 sts)
R2: Inc in each st around. (12 sts)
R3: Sc 1, inc rep around. (18 sts)
R4: Sc 2, inc rep around. (24 sts)
R5: Sc 3, inc rep around. (30 sts)
R6: Sc 4, inc rep around. (36 sts)
R7: Sc 5, inc rep around. (42 sts)
R8-R11: Sc in each st around. (4 rounds of 42 sts)

Fasten off.
Adding the Face:
- Insert the 12mm safety eyes between Rounds 15 and 16, spacing them 10 stitches apart.
- Using black embroidery floss, stitch two slanted eyebrows above the eyes over Rounds 13 and 14.
- Using a single strand of white yarn (split it to make it thinner), make a straight stitch under each eye for a highlight.
- With black yarn, embroider two small nostrils over Round 17.
- Stuff the head firmly and set it aside.
