Glow-in-the-Dark Skeleton Amigurumi

Glow-in-the-Dark Skeleton Amigurumi: A Spooky Crochet Pattern

June 22, 2025

Get ready to crochet something truly unique—a glow-in-the-dark skeleton that stands 8.75 inches tall! Designed by Juliana Penhorrate (@amigujumi), this playful amigurumi combines cute and creepy in the best way. The glow yarn (which charges in light and shines in the dark!) makes it extra special for Halloween decor, nightlight buddies, or quirky gifts.

While labeled as intermediate difficulty, the pattern uses basic stitches worked in continuous rounds. The magic happens when you add the glow-in-the-dark “bones” to the body—trust us, it’s worth the effort!

Why You’ll Love This Pattern:
✅ Glow yarn magic – Watch your skeleton light up at night!
✅ Great for Halloween – Perfect for decor or trick-or-treat gifts.
✅ Skill-building – Practice shaping, color changes, and embroidery.

Grab your hook and let’s bring this bony buddy to life

  • Ribs (2): Ch 8, work slip stitch “branches” (see PDF diagram).
  • Pelvis (2), Collarbones (2), Heels (2): Follow PDF instructions for mini pieces.

Assembly & Finishing

  1. Embroider Cracks: Use black yarn to stitch “cracks” on skull.
  2. Sew All Bones: Attach glow pieces to body with a single strand for subtlety.
  3. Stuff Firmly: Ensure head and body are plump but not overstuffed.

Tips for Success

  • Glow Yarn Hack: Charge under light before sewing on bones for instant glow effect!
  • Slip Stitch Seams: Keeps attachments neat and secure.
  • Safety Eyes: For kids, consider embroidering eyes instead.

Final Thoughts

Your glow-in-the-dark skeleton is ready to haunt (or delight!) everyone who sees it. Place it on a shelf, use it as a nightlight, or gift it to a fellow Halloween enthusiast.
