Materials You’ll Need

Pattern Instructions

Part 1: Legs & Body (Worked as one piece)

We start by making two legs separately and then join them to form the body. Use the smooth yarn (YarnArt Jeans) first.

Leg (Make 2):

  1. Foundation: Ch 6.
  2. Row 1: Starting in the second ch from the hook, work 4 sc. Work 3 sc into the last chain. Now, working along the other side of the starting chain, work 4 sc. (11 sts)
  3. Row 2: Work 4 sc. Make 3 inc (6 sc). Work 4 sc. (14 sts)
  4. Row 3 (Toes): Work 4 sc, 1 sl st.
    • (Work 3 dc into the next stitch, 1 sl st) into the next 3 stitches. This creates the three toes.
    • Work 3 sc. (14 sts)
  5. Carefully push out the “toes” so they are right-side out.
  6. Row 4: Sc in each stitch around. (14)
  7. Switch to the fluffy yarn (Alize Softy).
  8. Rnds 5-10: Sc in each stitch around for 6 rounds. (14)
  9. First Leg Only: Fasten off with a sl st, weave in the end.
  10. Second Leg Only: Do NOT fasten off. Work 6 more sc. Ch 1. Join with a sl st to the middle of the second leg (the sl st from Row 3). Make sure both legs are facing the same way.

Joining the Legs & Forming the Body:
11. The beginning of the round is at the back. With the fluffy yarn still attached, work 14 sc around the first leg. Work 1 sc into the chain-1 space. Work 14 sc around the second leg. Work 1 sc into the other side of the chain-1 space. Join. (30 sts) You are now working in continuous rounds.
12. Rnd 12: (Sc 4, inc) repeat 6 times. (36)
13. Rnd 13: (Sc 5, inc) repeat 6 times. (42)
14. Rnds 14-20: Sc in each stitch around for 7 rounds. (42) Stuff the legs and body firmly as you go.
15. Rnd 21: (Sc 5, dec) repeat 6 times. (36)
16. Rnd 22: Sc in each stitch around. (36)
17. Rnd 23: (Sc 4, dec) repeat 6 times. (30)
18. Rnd 24: (Sc 3, dec) repeat 6 times. (24)

21. Fasten off, leaving a very long tail for sewing the head on later.

Part 2: Head

Use the smooth yarn (YarnArt Jeans) for the entire head.

  1. Rnd 1: 6 sc in a MR. (6)
  2. Rnd 2: Inc in each stitch around. (12)

  10. Inserting Eyes: Between Rnds 12 and 13, insert the 13mm safety eyes. Position them so there are 7 sc between the edges of each eye.

Embroider the Face: Use embroidery thread or leftover smooth yarn to add details:

  • Create eye highlights (white dots).
  • Add eyelashes and eyebrows if desired.
  • Embroider a cute nose and a smiling mouth with teeth.

Part 4: Arms (Make 2)

  1. Start with smooth yarn (YarnArt Jeans).
  2. Rnd 1: 6 sc in a MR. (6)
  3. Rnd 2: Inc in each stitch around. (12)
  4. Rnd 3: Sc in each stitch around. (12)
  5. Rnd 4 (Thumb): Work 3 dc into the next stitch. Sc in each of the next 11 stitches. (12) Push out the “thumb.”
  6. Switch to fluffy yarn (Alize Softy).
  7. Rnds 5-13: Sc in each stitch around for 9 rounds. (12) Stuff the arm lightly about halfway.
  8. First Arm: Work 3 more sc.
  9. Second Arm: Stop 3 sc before the end of the round.
  10. Flatten the opening and sew it closed by working 6 sc through both layers to create a flat edge for attaching.
  11. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Part 5: Ears (Make 2 Ears, each with 2 parts)

Inner Ear (Smooth Yarn – White):

  1. Ch 9.
  2. Row 1: Starting in the 2nd ch from the hook, work 8 hdc. Change to the main head color (e.g., beige). Ch 1, turn.
  3. Row 2: Work 7 sc. Work 3 sc into the last stitch. Working along the other side of the foundation chain, work 7 sc. Ch 1, turn.
  4. Row 3: Work 7 sc. Make 3 inc. Work 7 sc. Fasten off.

Outer Ear (Fluffy Yarn):

  1. Ch 8.
  2. Row 1: Starting in the 2nd ch from the hook, work 7 sc. Ch 1, turn.
  3. Row 2: Work 6 sc. Work 3 sc into the last stitch. Working along the other side, work 6 sc. Ch 1, turn.
  4. Row 3: Work 6 sc. Make 3 inc. Work 6 sc. Do not fasten off.
  5. Assembling the Ear: Place the inner ear on top of the outer ear with wrong sides together. Using the working fluffy yarn, sc evenly around the entire edge, catching both layers. Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.

Assembly

  1. Ears: Sew the assembled ears to the top of the head.
  2. Head to Body: Use the long tail left on the body to securely sew the head onto the body. Stuff the neck area well as you sew for support.
  3. Arms: Sew the flat top of the arms to the body, about one row below where the head and body meet
