Here’s what you’ll need to make your Baby Platypus:

• Yarn:
  • Main color (body): 0.5 skein of plush yarn (e.g., Yarnart Dolce nr.754)
  • Dark grey (beak & paws): Small amount (e.g., Yarnart Dolce nr.760)
  • Milk color (egg): Small amount (optional)
• Hook: 4mm crochet hook
• Safety eyes: 13mm
• Other:
  • Dark yarn for eyebrows
  • Soft stuffing
  • Thin long needle + large-eye needle
  • Stitch marker
  • Yarn cutter or scissors

Abbreviations

• mr: Magic ring
• ch: Chain stitch
• sc: Single crochet
• inc: Increase (2 sc in the same stitch)
• dec: Decrease (sc 2 stitches together)

Pattern Instructions

Front Paws (Make 2)

Yarn: Dark grey | Hook: 4mm

1. Round 1: 6ch. Work 15c into the 2nd ch from the hook, then 15c into the next 3 stitches. Inc in the last stitch, then 15c into the next 4 stitches on the other side of the chain (10 sts).
2. Rounds 2–3: 10sc (2 rounds).
3. Round 4: 15c.
4. Switch to main color.
5. Round 5: (3sc, 1dec) x2 (8 sts).
6. Rounds 6–8: 8sc (3 rounds).
7. Round 9: 15c (only work 15c this round).
8. Stuff lightly. Sew the paw closed with a long tail for attaching.
