Part 2: The Cups
The cups are worked directly onto the band. You will first work two increase rows across the entire band, then separate and work on each cup individually.
- Mark Center: With the Right Side facing, find and mark the center 2 stitches of your band.
- Row 1 (Both Cups): Join yarn for the right cup. Ch 1 (does not count as st). Sc 10 (12, 14), 2 sc in next st, sc 9 (11, 13), 2 sc in next st, sc 10 (12, 14). Repeat from * once more for the left cup. Turn. (66, 78, 90 sts total)
- Row 2 (Both Cups): Ch 1, turn. Sc 10 (12,14), 2 sc in next st, sc 11 (13,15), 2 sc in next st, sc 10 (12,14). Repeat from * once more. Turn. (70, 82, 94 sts total)
You will now work on the Right Cup only.
4. Row 3: Ch 1, turn. Sk the first sc, sc in every st across. Turn. (34, 40, 46 sts)
5. Rows 4-13 (4-16 for Med, 4-19 for Large): Repeat Row 3. (You should have 24, 27, 30 sts at the end of these rows)
6. Next Rows (Shaping): Continue following the pattern for your size, which involves alternating decrease rows and plain sc rows. You will gradually decrease until only 1 stitch remains, then fasten off.
* For Small: Follow Rows 14-18, then repeat Row 18 until 1 st remains.
* For Medium/Large: Follow the numbered rows in the pattern (e.g., Row 17, 18, etc.) until 1 st remains.
- Left Cup: With the Wrong Side facing, re-join yarn to the right side of the left cup. Repeat all steps from Row 3 onward to complete the second cup.
